Cycling in Scotland

Around a mile from Trowan Farm is one of Scotland’s newest and best mountain biking centres: Comrie Croft. A truly exciting mix of graded Blue, Red and Black trails offers something for everyone, and the brilliant bike skills and jump park means you can practice your techniques before trying them out on the trails proper. The trails are backed up by a well stocked bike shop: Comrie Croft Bikes, which also provides servicing and guided trips. Bike Rental for all ages, from 1hr to 1 week and beyond is available at Comrie Croft Bikes, and bikes can be delivered direct to Trowan Farmhouse for the duration of your stay. See www.comriecroftbikes.co.uk for details.

Cycling in Scotland

In the wider valley there are a host of excellent trails – the Laggan Hill circuit and the Knock of Crieff both offer excellent way-marked family friendly and more technical trails, both can be accessed directly from Trowan farmhouse with no road riding required. If you would prefer something further afield, Glen Lednock, Turleum Hill and Glen Artney all have great circular routes. Comrie Croft Bikes, above, sell a map of all the local routes, and are also happy to advise if you pop in. Road routes are plentiful, and there a host of quieter single track or unnamed roads which link up to make some fantastic routes. From a short 5 mile circuit along the South Crieff Road and back, to epic 70-100 mile rings such as the Ring of Breadalbane road ride http://www.breadalbane.org/road-ring , there is something to suit all tastes and levels of fitness. Road bikes can also be rented from Comrie Croft Bikes.
